7.3.09 - REDLINE CLINIC - Cycling BC is putting on a clinic at Action BMX on Sunday, July 5th. The clinic will be split into 2 levels. Level 1 is geared toward new riders that have never been to the race track before or just starting. Level 2 is geared toward Novice and Intermediate riders and riders that have completed level 1. Level 1 - (FREE) 2 hour camp, athletes learn the basics about BMX. How to corner, pump, how the gate works, what to do when you first come to the track and how to read the moto sheets. Level 2 - ($15) 3 hour camp, athletes work to improve on the basic skills of BMX. Great for Novice and Intermediate riders! All camp participants will be entered in a draw to win one of the Redline Demo bikes. Clinic Schedule: Registration & warm up 9:30am to 10am. Level 1 Clinic 10-12pm. Lunch Break. Level 2 Clinic - 1-4pm. Participants, remember to bring water or something to drink. Bring a lunch if you are doing both clinics.

6.28.09 - Awesome racing at the BC Cup #5. Thanks riders for coming out to race! Roger Dalsanto won the $98.00 50/50 pot. Team race results: 1st Place, dEVo $50.00; 2nd Place, Underdogs $30; 3rd Place, Wentings $20. Rider draws included: Redline tires and Redline Grips.

6.27.09 - We held the BC Championship race today. Congrats to all the BC Champions! Great racing, great weather and awesome announcing by Andre Volkow. Big thanks to everyone that volunteered and made racing happen! Ron Reandy won the $118.50 50/50 pot, congrats Ron! Team race results: 1st Place, dEVO $100; 2nd Place, Canadian Bike Supply $60.00; 3rd Place, Wentings, $40.00 also congrats to the McCormick Family team on coming in a close 4th! Rider draws included: Q Series sport watches and Louis Garneau sunglasses.

6.26.09 - We had a fun double point race tonight. Congrats to the Cardinals on winning the $31.00 50/50 pot. Thanks to Doug Friesen of Tak Logistics for donating boxes of freezies and popcorn to the concession again this season and Shireen McCormick for donating cookies to sell in the concession this week.

5.14.09 - Racing cancelled for tonight. Although the sun is out now it is not enough to dry the track out from all the rain we've had over the last few days. Also, no gate practice on Monday, May 18 due to the long weekend. HAVE A GREAT LONG WEEKEND EVERYONE!

5.2.09 - Hope everyone enjoyed themselves at the triple point race today. We had a little bit of rain but not enough to stop the race.  It was nice to see all the juniors out, they always put on a good show! Team race was great success with XMB Racing from Vernon taking home $250.00 in 1st Place; Biking Vikings from Ridge Meadows taking home $100 in 2nd Place; dEVo from Action BMX taking home $50.00 in 3rd Place. Congrats to the Zarazun's on winning the $64.00 50/50 pot. Thanks Andre for announcing and all the riders and volunteers today!

5.2.09 - RACING TODAY AT ACTION BMX - TRIPLE POINT RACE SATURDAY, MAY 2 @ 3pm. $15 race, triple the points. Junior & Pro 20" Purse $250 plus entry fee (no cruiser purse). Registration for the triple point race happens at the motoshed from 1:30-2:15 today or call the hotline anytime before 2:15. Riders, you can also put together a team for some added fun and a chance to win money. Got a BMX team? Got 5 friends? Get them together and enter into the team competition, sign up at the team sign up tent (cost is $5 per team).  Riders can only be on one team. Teams can be made up of any 5 riders not on other teams. 1st Place: $250; 2nd Place: $100; 3rd Place: $50.  Check out "Special Events" for more information.

4.30.09 - Awesome night of racing and great announcing by Andre! The $64.00 50/50 pot was won tonight by Jeremy Munn. Contest #1 is closed, congrats to winner Chris Jones. 4.23.09 - Great night of racing, thanks riders and families for coming out and everyone that volunteered tonight. The $67.00 50/50 pot was won tonight by Gord Hill, congrats! Big thanks to Rose Brown for making rice crispy squares for the concession to sell. Race results are posted - thanks Phil!! Anyone interested in purchasing a season pass to race at Action BMX can do so at the motoshed for $100.00 (less race fees already paid this year).

4.16.09 - Second race of the season went great tonight, thanks to everyone that came out to race and everyone that volunteered their time, including Andre Volkow our fantastic announcer! The track is in good shape and everyone seems happy with the new more challenging layout. We had a $69.00 50/50 pot tonight which was won by Rose Brown. Rose generously donated her winnings to the track, so a big thanks to Rose! Race results are posted.

4.9.09 - The rain held off and we managed to run our first race of the 2009 season. It was great to see everyone out racing again and so many new riders. Welcome to everyone! The $33.50 50/50 pot was won tonight by Nadia Traversa. Race results are posted.

4.8.09 - Thanks to everyone that helped groom the track last weekend. We had a large turnout for gate practice on Monday. Next race scheduled for Thursday, April 9 (weather permitting). There will be no gate practice on Monday, April 13 due to the long weekend but rider Cameron Murphy will be holding a free NEW RIDERS CLINIC on Tuesday, April 14 from 6pm to 7pm (weather permitting), open to new members with CCA license or 30-day permit. We have a new contest question posted, check it out in the "contests" section and send in your email for your chance to win! 10.6.08 - YEAR END AWARDS PIZZA AND POOL PARTY - We had a great season of racing and want to thank all the riders that came out to race, everyone that volunteered their time and our very hardworking Executive especially Andre Volkow, our fantastic announcer for coming out to each and every race to announce for us.

9.30.08 - We had a great turn out for our unscheduled gate practice last night and we got a lot of grooming done. Please feel free to come back this week if you have time and work on the track (before the rain comes). Reminder that Action's Year End Awards take place this weekend on Saturday night, check out "Special Events" for the details.

9.28.08 - GATE PRACTICE on our newly re-built track Monday, September 29 at 5:30pm. Please be prepared to work grooming the track and rock removal We spent 3-days re-building the track with Special Thanks to Tyler Clarke for not only operating one of the bobcats but for organizing and spearheading the re-build, Adam Muys for his fantastic track building skills and Paul from Vancouver Construction who did an amazing job with the excavator. Thanks to the everyone that helped out with grooming this weekend on such short notice, we appreciate it and the track looks great!

9.14.08 - It was a BC Cup weekend of racing at Action BMX with 4-days of racing starting with our regular district point race on Thursday, a double point race on Friday, the BC Cup #8 on Saturday and the BC Cup Finals on Sunday. Fantastic racing, a lot of close finishes, a couple nasty crashes, but a great time overall with the terrific weather and great announcing by Andre Volkow. It takes a lot of volunteers to run the races and we thank everyone that helped out! We had a lot of fun giveaways thanks to Redline and Louis Garneau. 50/50 winner include: Doug DePatie won $96.00 on Thursday, Bernard Lal won $41.50 on Friday, Angela Harlow Chu won $114.50 on Saturday and Shelly Wilson won $161.50 on Sunday, congratulations to all and big thanks to everyone that participated in the draws this weekend! Racing aside, the highlight for many of us was the very emotional Flag Lap on Saturday, dedicated to the memory of Matt Hemmingson, with a moving tribute by Andre.

The 30 and over expert class was stacked with a gate of 8 and lots of position moves. It was great to see Tyler Clarke out tonight, Tyler's been racing at the track since he was a little kid but with a couple years off we hope to see more of him at the track! Congratulations Larissa Michie on winning the $94.50 50/50 pot!! Thanks everyone for participating in the draw tonight! 7.14.08 - We neglected to provide riders with the sticky tape when we handed out the medallions at the BC Cup race on Sunday. We have lots available at the track so please see us at the motoshed the next time you are at the track and we will give you the tape for the back of your medallion.

7.14.08 - OLYMPIC NEWS - Local rider, SCOTT ERWOOD will be representing Canada in BMX at the Olympics this August in China. SAMANTHA COOLS of Alberta is also heading to the Olympic Games. Congratulations to both, we'll all be watching and rooting them on!!

7.13.08 - Another great day of racing with the BC Cup #5. All the riders did great today and it was awesome to see all the juniors out taking on the pro-section! We had lots of rider draws today, a bunch of Fox Racing gear was won by some lucky riders! BREAKING NEWS . . . . . Andre Volkow has finally won 50/50 at Action BMX!!! our fabulous announcer took home $104.00 today, so congrats to Andre! Again, it takes a lot of volunteers to run these provincial races and we thank everyone for helping out this weekend! It was decided at today's race that there will be no gate practice tomorrow so we look forward to seeing everyone out for racing again on Thursday.

7.12.08 - Awesome day of racing today with the BC Provincial Championship race. Congratulations to all the riders that participated! Lots of rider draws were held and tons of great prizes were handed out including t-shirts, bike parts, hats, Bawls Energy Drink. Patrick Sexton won the $35.00 50/50 pot at the double point race on Friday night and Cristina Juriga won the $126.50 50/50 money at today's race, congrats to both! It takes a lot of hard work and many hours of preparation by the executive to get racing happening and many volunteers to run the race and we thank everyone for all their help today. 7.3.08 - Thanks riders and volunteers for another great night of racing! It was fun to watch the 10 Expert class and the 40-45 Male Cruiser class battling it out tonight, among others! 6.14.08 - It was a busy weekend of racing with the BC Cups at both Abby and Ridge. Everyone works very hard to put these races on and we thank the clubs for hosting the events. 6.6.08 - BC Cup racing is happening next weekend with the BC Cup #3 at Abbotsford on June 14 @ 11:15am and the BC Cup #4 at Ridge Meadows on June 15 @ 10:15am. Abbotsford also has a double point race on June 13th @ 7pm. Details will be posted at the track.

6.5.08 - Racing tonight has been cancelled due to rain.

5.30.08 - Cycling BC is putting on a FREE Learn2Race Clinic Level 1 at Action BMX on June 7th from 10am to 12-noon and then a $15 Learn2Race Clinic Level 2 from 1pm-4pm. Pre-registration is not required. Cycling BC will be taking registration at the track from 9am to 10am. You can take one or both clinics. Level 1 is for new riders or riders who have never raced before and Level 2 is for riders with some racing experience (or those who have completed Level 1). Participants, remember to bring water or something to drink. Bring a lunch if you are doing both clinics as there is a lunch break scheduled from 12-noon to 1pm.

5.29.08 - Thanks Riders for a great night of racing! Who knew it would be the 30 + male classes that were going to be so exciting to watch this season! and the 11 year old novices getting a main two weeks in a row! Anyway, it's great for spectators and riders! 50/50 was won by Chris Henry, congratulations on winning $94.50!! Thanks to everyone that participates and contributes to the 50/50, the club really appreciates it! and remember anyone can win, it only takes one ticket! 5.20.08 - In addition to our regular Thursday night race, Cycling BC is holding a BC Summer games qualifier for Zone 4 athletes at Action BMX on May 22nd. Registration from 5:30-6:15. Racing to follow. Cost $15. Ages: 13 to 16 years. Top 2 Male and 2 Female will qualify for the games on July 24-27 in Kelowna. More info about the Games and Qualifier is posted on the Cycling BC BMX website at http://www.cyclingbcbmx.ca/itoolkit.asp?pg=BC_Summer_Games. Zone 4 includes Burnaby, Delta, New West and Richmond. Athletes from the Surrey and Abbotsford areas (amongst others) must qualify tonight (Tuesday, May 20) at Ridge Meadows BMX.

5.19.08 - Awesome weekend of racing at the Canadian Nationals at Abbotsford BMX. Congratulations to all the riders that took part and especially those that made it to Top 8. It was great to see so many riders come out from Alberta, Quebec, Ontario and all across Canada. A big thanks to the Abbotsford BMX team for hosting the event and major sponsor Tim Horton's who had plenty of food and refreshments available for all riders and volunteers throughout the weekend. 5.10.08 - We'd like to thank everyone that came out to our Triple Point Race today in support of Matt Hemmingson. We realize it was short notice but we are really happy with the rider turnout and the funds generated. In total we generated $1,500.00 for the Hemmingson family which includes another donation from Trevor Brown in the amount of $500.00 (thanks again Trevor!). There are a lot of generous people in the BMX community and we sincerely thank everyone that participated by racing today or by making a donation! Thanks for making a difference and showing your support! Congratulations to Steve Fenning on winning the $72.00 50/50 pot! Junior Cameron Murphy held a Riders Clinic for Team dEVo after the triple point race for about 20 riders with help from Ryan Murphy.

5.1.08 - As Andre announced tonight we have a very special race coming up on Saturday, May 10. It is our scheduled Triple Point Race @ 11am (registration from 9:30 to 10:15) and Action BMX will be donating all of it's proceeds from that race to the Hemmingson family. As many of you know, Matt Hemmingson is an extrordinary athlete, he has numerous Canadian National and BC Cup titles under his belt and also excels in mountain biking and park riding. Matt is battling a very serious illness and we are hoping for a very strong turnout of riders in order to generate as much money as possible for the family to help them at this very difficult time.
