1.4.10 - HAPPY NEW YEAR! - Cycling BC announces new license fees for 2010 as follows: under 13 $40; under 17 $55; under 23 $110; over 23 $130. A great deal for anyone under 17 and only a slight increase for others! Half track license $30 (ages 5 & under).

Finals - Stony Plain AB - Sep 5

The 2009 Series is a 9 race series plus a finals event. Plates and awards will be earned from racing this  "inter-provincial" competition. In order to qualify for the plates and awards you must attend at least 5 events plus the finals. If you attend more than 5 events only your best 5 finishes will be used in the calculation of points. Of the 5 races, you must race at least 1 event outside of your home province. The final is a double points race.

10.4.09 - Huge thanks to the Action BMX Executive Team for putting on another great year end party last night. The awards started out with a BMX picture slide show courtesy of Barb Bruce. Lots of pizza, freshments and Shireen McCormick surprised us all with trays of homemade treats for dessert! Riders were awarded Action BMX race jersey's, hoodies and/or jackets along with rider certificates. Half trackers were awarded rider certificates. Riders that hadn't raced enough to qualify for the above were awarded t-shirts and rider certificates. Once again we'd like to thank Karen Hoff for creating all the year end rider certificates and donating them to the track!

9.24.09 - Awesome night of racing at our last race of the 2009 season. Thanks to all the riders for coming out and keeping finish line on their toes with some very close finishes tonight! Thanks Andre for his fantastic announcing tonight and doing such a great job running the elections.  The 2010 Executive has been voted in. Stepping down were, Melissa Jones who did an awesome job running concession this year and we thank her for all her hard work and George McLaughlin who has been our gate starter for several years and has done a wonderful job for the track over the years!  Congratulations Sandy McLaughlin on winning the $84.50 50/50 pot. Contest #14 was won by Vickie Slingsby and Contest #15 was won by Deandre Miller. See everyone at the year end party on October 3.

9.21.09 - It's our last race of the season on Thursday Sept 24, please try to come out to race and we'll get a big race happening, a nice way to end a very successful racing season at Action BMX. We will also be running a trophy race for half trackers and holding our executive elections.

 9.5.09 - Western Nationals #9 took place at Ridge Meadows BMX today. Despite the early morning rain, it held off for most of the racing today and only started again for the last few mains. Great racing all around. Congrats to the Ridge team and all the volunteers that made racing happen. Good luck to all the riders at the Finals tomorrow! 9.3.09 - It turned out to be a beautiful night for racing, thanks riders for coming out and everyone that made racing happen tonight. 8.23.09 - We've had 4-days of exciting racing starting with our regular district point race on Thursday, double point race on Friday, BC Cup #6 at North Shore BMX and BC Cup #7 back at Action BMX today. It was a great weekend of racing and we'd like to thank everyone that came out to race and everyone that volunteered their time this weekend, especially our Announcer,  Andre Volkow, who was out all 4-days announcing the races.  There is a lot of hard work and time spent preparing for these races, long before the 1st gate drops, and we appreciate everyone's time and effort! We had a couple of 50/50 draws this weekend, congrats to Laura Cole on winning a $154.00 50/50 pot and Lloyd Hamulas on winning a $67.00 50/50 pot. Team Race Results:

 8.20.09 - Awesome racing tonight, lots of close finishes made for some exciting racing! Also, it was great to see a full gate of female cruisers out racing tonight! 8.8.09 - We had a nice turnout for our scheduled double point race today, thanks riders for coming out! Congrats to Andy MacDonald on winning the $58.00 50/50 pot. Thanks to all the volunteers and Dan Rodrigues for filling in for Andre and announcing today's race!  7.30.09 - It doesn't take a lot of riders to have a good night of racing at Action BMX! It was scorching hot but racing was still fun, thanks riders for coming out tonight and everyone that volunteered their time. Redline Clinic Level 2 - July 5 - coaches Mischa Partridge & Cameron Murphy

7.3.09 - REDLINE CLINIC - Cycling BC is putting on a clinic at Action BMX on Sunday, July 5th. The clinic will be split into 2 levels. Level 1 is geared toward new riders that have never been to the race track before or just starting. Level 2 is geared toward Novice and Intermediate riders and riders that have completed level 1. Level 1 - (FREE) 2 hour camp, athletes learn the basics about BMX. How to corner, pump, how the gate works, what to do when you first come to the track and how to read the moto sheets. Level 2 - ($15) 3 hour camp, athletes work to improve on the basic skills of BMX. Great for Novice and Intermediate riders! All camp participants will be entered in a draw to win one of the Redline Demo bikes. Clinic Schedule: Registration & warm up 9:30am to 10am. Level 1 Clinic 10-12pm. Lunch Break. Level 2 Clinic - 1-4pm. Participants, remember to bring water or something to drink. Bring a lunch if you are doing both clinics.

6.27.09 - We held the BC Championship race today. Congrats to all the BC Champions! Great racing, great weather and awesome announcing by Andre Volkow. 5.14.09 - Racing cancelled for tonight. Although the sun is out now it is not enough to dry the track out from all the rain we've had over the last few days. Also, no gate practice on Monday, May 18 due to the long weekend. HAVE A GREAT LONG WEEKEND EVERYONE!

5.2.09 - Hope everyone enjoyed themselves at the triple point race today. We had a little bit of rain but not enough to stop the race.  It was nice to see all the juniors out, they always put on a good show! Team race was great success with XMB Racing from Vernon taking home $250.00 in 1st Place; Biking Vikings from Ridge Meadows taking home $100 in 2nd Place; dEVo from Action BMX taking home $50.00 in 3rd Place. Congrats to the Zarazun's on winning the $64.00 50/50 pot. Thanks Andre for announcing and all the riders and volunteers today!

5.2.09 - RACING TODAY AT ACTION BMX - TRIPLE POINT RACE SATURDAY, MAY 2 @ 3pm. $15 race, triple the points. Junior & Pro 20" Purse $250 plus entry fee (no cruiser purse). Registration for the triple point race happens at the motoshed from 1:30-2:15 today or call the hotline anytime before 2:15. Riders, you can also put together a team for some added fun and a chance to win money. Got a BMX team? Got 5 friends? Get them together and enter into the team competition, sign up at the team sign up tent (cost is $5 per team).  Riders can only be on one team. Teams can be made up of any 5 riders not on other teams. 1st Place: $250; 2nd Place: $100; 3rd Place: $50.  Check out "Special Events" for more information.

4.16.09 - Second race of the season went great tonight, thanks to everyone that came out to race and everyone that volunteered their time, including Andre Volkow our fantastic announcer! The track is in good shape and everyone seems happy with the new more challenging layout. We had a $69.00 50/50 pot tonight which was won by Rose Brown. Rose generously donated her winnings to the track, so a big thanks to Rose! Race results are posted.

4.9.09 - The rain held off and we managed to run our first race of the 2009 season. It was great to see everyone out racing again and so many new riders. Welcome to everyone! The $33.50 50/50 pot was won tonight by Nadia Traversa. Race results are posted.

4.8.09 - Thanks to everyone that helped groom the track last weekend. We had a large turnout for gate practice on Monday. Next race scheduled for Thursday, April 9 (weather permitting). There will be no gate practice on Monday, April 13 due to the long weekend but rider Cameron Murphy will be holding a free NEW RIDERS CLINIC on Tuesday, April 14 from 6pm to 7pm (weather permitting), open to new members with CCA license or 30-day permit.
